Leadership

Shipping products is rewarding, but what I find even more meaningful is helping others grow. I offer pro-bono mentorship to early-career designers and people transitioning into UX, supporting them as they take their first steps into the industry.

Strategy

Design is a team sport. I help translate business strategy into product roadmaps by facilitating collaborative, in-depth conversations with cross-functional teams (XFN), as well as liaison with engineers to design a great experience.

Here is a glimpse of some of the design thinking workshops I have led to uncover answers to challenging problems and inform product vision – ranging from design sprints to co-creation workshops, customer journey mapping, and more.

Functional framework

Define high level functional flows and map out data elements to help engineers in building the data schemas and app framework.

Client: Atlas Carbon

Year: 2025

For Atlas Carbon, I translated messy real-world behaviour into a functional system model. Through interviews, field shadowing, and rapid prototypes, I identified the actions, rules, and data relationships farmers needed across grazing, paddock planning, and livestock management.

This functional framework became the backbone for the MVP — aligning engineering on schema, shaping the navigation model, and guiding decisions on what to automate, simplify, or completely reinvent.

Journey map

Define high level functional flows and map out data elements to help engineers in building the data schemas and app framework.

Client: Virtus Health

Year: Oct – Nov 2025 (6 Weeks discovery)

At Virtus Health, I used journey mapping to make staff experience visible. I led discovery workshops and 1:1 sessions with clinicians, nurses, and admin teams to surface operational pain points that impacted both staff and patients.

By visualising the full patient and staff journey, we uncovered bottlenecks, emotional moments, and systemic breakdowns — giving the organisation a clear, human-centred foundation for redesigning their patient management tool (VPS).

Change Architecture / Governance

Frequently collaborate with engineers and PMs to map out user flows and understand multi-step, cross platform information architecture and setting up ways of working.

Client: IAG

Year: 2023–2024

At IAG, I used flow modelling to bring structure to ambiguity. By partnering with engineers and PMs, I mapped multi-channel user journeys and operational workflows across brands, revealing hidden dependencies, decision points, and governance gaps.

This approach helped teams move from assumptions to shared clarity, enabling scalable ways of working and informing how new patterns and system rules should be introduced across the design system portfolio.

Collaboration

Efficient communication is key to productive and fulfilling relationships in a workplace; I walk that talk. Here is what some of the XFN I have worked with say about my collaboration style and communication.

  • Deepti Parvathaneni
    Software Architect, Slalom

Rotash has consistently shown strong abilities in both aligning design and development efforts and communicating effectively with stakeholders. He excels at collaborating with the development team to ensure that design concepts are not only visually appealing but also practical and feasible to implement.

Rotash is also highly effective in stakeholder communication — proactively gathering feedback, clarifying requirements, and presenting design choices in a way that is clear and accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences. Overall, Rotash is a key contributor to the Atlas Carbon team, continually bridging the gap between design and development while keeping stakeholders informed and engaged throughout every stage of the process.

  • Yu Qi
    UX Designer, Slalom (Japan)

Working with Rotash has been a wonderful experience. Rotash not only possesses exceptional design leadership quality but also brings a personal connection and incredible humanity to our design team.

Whenever I reached out to Rotash with a design question, he consistently provided me with full support. He listens attentively, shares his valuable past experiences, and wholeheartedly helps me brainstorm solutions for the challenges I face. During our Amazon engagement, Rotash's constructive suggestions on table design proved to be incredibly valuable.

Thank you for everything Rotash. I sincerely hope we will have more opportunities to collaborate in the future.

  • Sab Chokkalingom
    AEM Developer/SME, Slalom

Over the past year, Rotash has consistently demonstrated exceptional growth and impact through his role as a UX and UI SME for the IAG CMS program. His contributions have been pivotal in delivering high-impact solutions, executing effectively, and serving IAG client with excellence. Executing Effectively:

Rotash has been instrumental in delivering a comprehensive Design System from scratch for the IAG customer. This system has standardised our design processes, resulting in more than 50% increase in design efficiency and a consistent brand experience across multiple brands within IAG.

I am sure, if not Slalom, no one else would have effectively setup this complicated beast of AEM CMS Design System implementation.
